When Jamie and I got married, her father built us a gorgeous coffee table. It was made of red oak in a craftsman style and I knew someday that I wanted a room of furniture in this style. Not many stores have vintage looking craftsman furniture available, so in the summer of 2015, I got into the wood shop with my father-in-law and we built a buffet table to match the coffee table. I came up with the plans from scratch and modeled out my idea in SketchUp. The final style didn’t change much from my initial design though some stylistic changes were made as the piece went together.
