This is the first time I’ve ever painted a life size cow statue and it won’t be the last. Originally done with an I Love Lucy motif, after 10 years, it was time to refresh this old girl with a coat of paint. The owner of this statue loved thoroughbreds so the new theme I came up with was a cow that thinks it is a racehorse. You could even write a children’s book inspired by it called “Swedish Meatball, the cow that won the Kentucky Derby”.

Lucy the Cow with Red Hair
Her feet are stuck in a bucket to hold her down.
Waaaah! The curly red hair tail is a nod to Lucille Ball if you didn’t guess.
Now it’s a cow who thinks it’s a thoroughbred.

Even the bucket got a fresh coat of paint!
Lily approved of Swedish Meatball, the Horse that won the Kentucky Derby!
Swedish Meatball got it’s name from the racing colors we chose for the cow.
